My goal is to expand the creative capabilities of technologies and to find unexpected applications of technology in novel fields.
My background is in computer science, art, design, and engineering. I use my interdisciplinary skillset to understand research holistically: as the scientist, the creative, the consumer, and the engineer. My approach to research enables me to develop technologies that cross disciplinary silos, and to “hack” technology to make it work in novel disciplines and new environments. It is this perspective that I hope to bring to a career of research and teaching in academia.

Co-Lead Engineering Researcher January 2026 – OngoingAdvised by Quentin Bolsee (Postdoc) under Professor Neil Gershenfeld (Director), Center for Bits and Atoms, MIT Media LabSupported by the MaP+S Group, Harvard Graduate School of Design
- Built the first-ever CNC-based paper marbling machine
- Designed a custom CAD software for users of the machine to digitally design their own paper marblings
- Currently running studies on the machine's usability, reproducibility and maximum capabilities

Lead HCI Researcher September 2025 – OngoingAdvised by Professor Elena Glassman, Human-Computer Interaction, Harvard School of Engineering and Applied Sciences
- Built a novel lossless visualization system for arbitrary 4D structures
- Designed and ran user studies to determine the usability and intuitiveness of the system
- Currently writing my research paper in preparation of submitting for publication

Design Researcher September 2025 – May 2026Advised by Professor Allen Sayegh, Responsive Environments and Artifacts Lab, Harvard Graduate School of Design
- Worked with Professor Allen Sayegh to explore how use of generative AI affects interdisciplinary design processes
- Designed and ran behavioral research studies (n=24) to determine how AI influences idea drift in groups
- Ran a series of cross-university interviews for design and interdisciplinary professors exploring the landscape of cross-disciplinary production and collaboration
- Wrote a research paper analyzing my findings and proposing two novel frameworks - disciplinary topography and disciplinary tectonics - that contextualize an AI-resilient design methodology

Creative Technology Researcher May 2024 – May 2025Advised by Professor Lawrence Shea, Department of Video and Media Design, Carnegie Mellon University School of Drama
- Worked with Professor Lawrence Shea to create an experimental motion capture lab space; integrated Vive, xSens, and CyanPuppets motion capture systems into the space
- Developed workflows in Unity, NDI, ReadyPlayerMe, and MediaWiki, which integrate with the motion capture systems
- Designed and choreographed real-time XR performances using motion capture, VR, and traditional performance technologies
- Presented our work and findings at Meeting of the Minds 2025

Computational Biology Research Intern March 2020 – August 2021Advised by Professor Luis A. N. Amaral, Amaral Lab, Northwestern University School of Engineering and Applied Science
- Created a bespoke computational model of microbial assemblies in Python that accurately predicts the growth and collapse of microbial assemblies
- Developed responsive graphical representations of model behavior to improve accessibility of data; presented project results

- Led office hours once to twice per week, depending upon student demand

- Taught multiple classes every week on bleeding edge social, political, and metaphysical issues

- Designed custom lesson plans and taught groups of ten students ages 13-17 Unity development from beginner to advanced levels
- Ported finished projects to Oculus and integrated different VR control schemes, including keyboard, Oculus controllers, and motion, position, or tilt-based control

Creative Technology Intern May 2025 – August 2025Deeplocal
- Engineered installations at Deeplocal, a creative technology agency known for building innovative interactive experiences
- Worked with creative agency on client projects from day one, including projects for LEGO, Pinterest, and Five Currents
- Traveled to project sites for installation, oversight, and deinstallation, trusted as the only technical team-member on site

Software Engineer Intern February 2023 – September 2023Soapboxx
- Developed an extended backend for the Soapboxx website and integrated the backend with APIs for image databases, GPT, and image GANs
- Collaborated with Soapboxx and IB5K teams to design a frontend for my project and integrate the completed project into the site using React
